NHC Hendersonville provided a generous donation of $8000.00 for equipment for the new simulation lab for the Practical Nursing program in Portland TN. Cara Redferrin ,from NHC Hendersonville, and Shannon Easton, formally of NHC Hendersonville, both serves on the Practical Nursing Advisory Committee and submitted the request for financial assistance to assist with the set up the simulation lab at TCAT Portland. They worked with Chirs Heeren to present the request for the donation and announced the approval for funds in May 2019. On Thursday, May 16, 2019, Chris Heeren presented a check for $8000.00 to President Mark Lenz and Allied Health Coordinator Kathleen Voeltzke to be used in purchasing beds, nightstands and over-the-bed tables for the new lab. Instructors Tanya Nelson and Wendy Regen, along with the inaugural Practical Nursing class were also in attendance. The Practical Nursing program is honored by the investment NHC Hendersonville is making in the Practical Nursing program and appreciates all their support and encouragement through this generous donation and welcoming students to their facility for clinical rotations.
