The Hybrid Practical Nursing program is the same length, one-year, and covers the same curriculum as our on campus Practical Nursing program. As a Hybrid program, a portion of the courses are covered online. Students will attend classes and/or clinical on campus or at a clinical site, approximately 22 hours a week. While there is some flexibility in performing course requirements, students choosing to register under the Hybrid Practical Nursing program need to have strong computer skills, the ability to manage their time well and be accountable for course material deadlines as well as be a strong, independent learner.


This program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. The Nursing program prepares individuals to become members of a nursing team in hospitals, long term health care facilities, doctors’ offices, outpatient clinics, and home health care. Students are required to complete supervised clinical experiences in all areas of nursing care. Pre-Requisites Information

Prior to receiving an application for the September 2020 Practical Nursing program, applicants are required to take and pass the pre-requisites of Anatomy & Physiology and Dosage Calculations.

The pre-requisites will be offered starting May 2020.  Upon successfully passing the pre-requisites, applicants will receive an application packet for the September 2020 Practical Nursing program.

The first step to apply is to attend an Information Session. It is mandatory that you attend one of the following sessions to be eligible to enroll in the pre-requisites courses. The session will last approximately one hour. The following dates are available:

Nashville Campus

During the session, we will discuss class schedules for pre-requisites, pre-registration dates, fees, and other vital information pertaining to the Practical Nursing program.

Nashville campus - The session will be held in the Douglas Henry Building, Room 229/231. Parking is available in the back of the campus.

Doors will close promptly at scheduled time of meeting. You will be required to attend the next meeting if you arrive after the doors have closed. In case of inclement weather, contact the school to see if open.

Portland Campus
